Aging and Maintenance Tips
“It’s all about maintenance.” This is what I have been preaching to my patients for years regarding how to address facial aging. We all know the aging process is a gradual one. The speed at which we see those changes is determined by both our genetics and environmental influences, especially our exposure to the sun. How we choose to deal with the process often dictates the way we will look.
Aging and maintenance doesn’t just apply to faces. There are many other things in our lives that also require maintenance. Our cars are a good example. For instance, if we don’t change the oil intermittently, eventually the car will begin to have mechanical problems. Similarly, if we do not exercise occasionally and watch what we eat, our body begins to lose its shape. Our face and the character of our facial skin are no different than our car or body. In order to look as good as we possibly can, it requires a little work and maintenance every once and awhile. This may entail something as simple as good quality skin care or in-office treatments, such as BOTOX® and fillers. For optimal results, these treatments should be repeated before the effects completely wear off. Lastly, an occasional nip or tuck here and there can make a big difference in staying ahead of Father Time and looking our very best.
