Columbus Lower Body Lift (Thigh and Buttocks Lift)
If a healthy diet and regular workouts are not doing enough to eliminate the accumulation of excess fat and loose skin in and around your thighs and buttocks, this procedure, a thigh and buttocks lift or lower body lift, may be the right choice for you. This surgery removes that excess fat and skin while tightening the muscles, leaving you with a slimmer profile.
Why have a thigh and buttocks lift?
Columbus lower body lift surgery is best suited for men and women who are in great shape, but have loose skin in the outer thigh and buttocks area. During your consultation, Dr. Sullivan will examine you to evaluate your skin, discuss the extent and location of the resulting scars, and determine if you are an ideal candidate for this procedure.
Procedure:
Before your procedure, Dr. Sullivan will mark the areas of the body where the incisions will occur for maximum body contouring effect. This is an individualized process for each patient; Dr. Sullivan will discuss this when she examines you during your consultation. Sometimes, stretch marks can be eliminated during the surgery; however, it may not be possible to remove all of them.
A Columbus lower body lift is usually performed on an outpatient basis while you are under general anesthesia. Excess skin is trimmed and pulled up, tightening the skin in these areas.
Post-Op Results:
In most cases, small drainage tubes are placed beneath the skin to prevent fluids from accumulating. Although you may not be able to stand up straight at first, you will be encouraged to get out of bed soon after surgery to promote blood circulation. You will wear a support garment to help control the swelling.
Soon after surgery, you will see a noticeable difference in the shape of your thighs and buttocks. After a few months, your surgical scars may begin to fade, and the feeling of numbness and tightness will disappear. Although your scars will fade over time with proper care, it is important to realize that you will always have scars.
Although the results are considered permanent, over time, gravity and the aging process will continue. To prolong the surgical results as long as possible, maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating right, exercising regularly, and keeping your weight stable.
The specific risks and possible complications as they relate to the thigh and buttocks lift procedure will be discussed at your initial consultation.
