Columbus VASER® Liposuction

VASER® Liposuction in Columbus, Ohio, uses a special type of ultrasound technology designed to emulsify fat cells while conserving other tissues during a liposuction procedure. Ultrasonic liposuction can used to treat nearly any area of the body. You will discuss all of your individual pre- and post-operative needs with our team of nurses during your comprehensive pre-op appointment.

Procedure:

Dr. Sullivan first fills the areas of your body to be treated with a specialized saline solution that numbs the site. This solution also reduces bruising by shrinking the blood vessels in the treatment area. VASER® Lipo consists of a small probe that transmits energy to the surgical site. This energy breaks up fatty tissue on contact while preserving the surrounding tissue. The liquefied fat cells are then removed using VASER® Lipo’s gentle vacuum through a small incision.

VASER® Lipo is not a weight loss system. There are limits on the amounts of fatty tissue that can be safely removed from your body. VASER® Lipo is used to sculpt and reduce specific areas of the body. After liposuction, you will notice that your clothing fits much better, even if the numbers on your scale don’t change.

Post-Op Results:

Depending on the extent of your Columbus VASER® Lipo, you may be able to return to work in a few days. You are required to wear a compression garment 24 hours a day for 4 weeks. You can resume walking immediately, although you should wait a few weeks after your VASER® Lipo treatment before resuming a vigorous exercise routine.

It may take several months for your swelling to fully dissipate. As it does, your new contours will emerge. Your results will last as long as you maintain your weight and practice a healthy lifestyle that includes eating well and regular physical activity.
